Microsoft has a wonderful collaboration tool - Microsoft Groove that provides the ability for a team to work together on a project in on-line or off-line mode and both locally and remotely. It is a very impressive tool. Groove on Wiki.
There are other team collaboration solutions some based on websites, for example Central Desktop and Basecamp, that provide the tools needed for successful projects in the Internet environment.
